In it to win it, reiterates Solskjaer ahead of Leicester City decider

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reiterated that his players will take the pitch on Sunday, with the sole objective of ensuring a win against Leicester City.

The Red Devils sit third on the points table, but need a draw at the King Power Stadium to secure a Champions League spot. The Foxes trail Manchester United by only one point, which is certainly a cause of concern for the United fans.

“We’re looking forward to the game; we’ve given ourselves a good chance of being in the Champions League next year,” said Solskjaer as quoted by Manchester United’s official website.

“We’re not going to change our approach. We want to go there to try to win the game.”

An unlucky defeat would leave Manchester United reliant on a Wolverhampton Wanderers win against Chelsea. However, Solskjaer is clearly not a man bothered by possible outcomes.

“We can’t go into a game thinking about what the outcome could be. We just have to go and perform, and perform to a high enough level for us to get a result. We want to go there and dominate the game.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer further hailed his squad’s improving mentality, with the Reds boasting of the longest current unbeaten run in the league. This wouldn’t have been possible without Mason Greenwood, who has been a vital performer.

13 matches have passed since the defeat against Burnley, and a win on Sunday would stretch that to 14.

“Well, focus and concentration are very important in football. When you play against quality teams and players, one lapse of concentration can hurt you.”

“We’re going to go into it with a strong frame of mind and it’s not job done. We have one more game in this season and that’s just this season.”

“We have come a long way mentally and we’ve shown more resilience and robustness when we’ve lost the first goal in games, for example, but we’ve also shown the heights, which you can’t expect every time. I’m delighted with the development,” concluded Ole.
