Bayer Leverkusen are not close to an agreement with Chelsea for the services of wonderkid Kai Havertz, as confirmed by the club’s manager Peter Bosz.

The English giants have attempted to seal a deal for the services of the talented attacker for a reported fee of €76m. Havertz has further made his desire to join the Blues amply clear, but Bayer Leverkusen are in no mood to relent.

Bosz has confirmed that the German footballer will be a part of the club’s Europa League campaign, according to quotes carried by The Sun.  

“Kai Havertz will be there right at the start of the training session. I am confident he will also be with us in the Europa League.”

These remarks come on the back of Chelsea manager Frank Lampard’s glowing recommendation of Havertz, who he described as a “top player” before denying any official bid.

“No, no bids have gone in. He’s obviously a top player, but I’m certainly not going to comment on players at other teams. And it cannot be our focus. So, nothing to say,” he said as quoted by talk Sport.

“We have the games we need to complete. That’s something we’ll broach when it comes around. So for the minute our only focus can be on the games in hand,” added Lampard.

Havertz is one of a kind, 189 cm tall but nimble footed. He can create and score a variety of goals.

The range of finishing that the wonderkid boasts of in his locker, is insane. The German attacker is a very high IQ player and always seems to make the right decision in the final third.

Chelsea take on Wolves in a do-or-die clash on Sunday, with a draw necessary to secure a spot in the Champions League next season.
