Thierry Henry has expressed his desire to see Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang continue at Arsenal, despite concrete interest in his services. Henry revealed his fear over the loss of firepower which the Gunners will be forced to negotiate.
“Everyone will do whatever they have to do. How am I going to say to someone to stay when I left?,” he told Sky Sports.
“As an Arsenal fan you want them to stay but, as a football player, he will assess the situation and see what’s best for them.” added Henry.

The Frenchman further admitted that the Gabonese striker’s departure will make it tough for the club to challenge their opponents on a level footing. Henry hailed Aubameyang’s goal-scoring exploits, praising the attacker’s impact.
“If you’re an Arsenal man you don’t want him to leave but also the guy has a career and I don’t know what’s in his head,” he stated.
“We are definitely going to miss his goals if he does leave. If you take the goals of Aubameyang away it’s a tough one,” concluded Henry.
Aubameyang’s denial:
Aubameyang has been a star performer for Arsenal over the years. He has further flourished under manager Mikel Arteta. The Gabonese striker has led from the front with his leadership and immense experience.
Aubameyang has further attempted to deny speculation over his future in the past. His remarks have indicated a disdainful approach towards the rumours.
“The English press likes to talk a lot. For now, I’m here. I’m 100% here,” he said as quoted by RMC. Interestingly, the footballer is yet to sign a new contract.
The Gunners will be optimistic of the 30-year-old signing a long-term deal. This assumes greater importance with FC Barcelona closely tracking developments.
