Adi Hütter wore a beaming smile as he walked out of Commerzbank-Arena. Certain critics had depicted him as an idealist, quixotically pursuing a brand of technical, attacking football, while falling short on the finer tactical details, following a 4-2 defeat recently.

Hütter stuns Bayern Munich with precision and accuracy

Hütter stunned Bayern Munich 5-1 by using an extremely astute system. The key players were deployed in new roles with a smooth shift in formations. Eintracht Frankfurt went ahead early, before following it up with a second goal on the back of a superb shot by Djibril Sow. Robert Lewandowski attempted to help the Bavarians record a comeback with a well-executed goal in the 37th minute.

However, the away side failed to add to this tally on the back of strategic genius by Adi Hütter.

The Eintracht Frankfurt manager comprehensively outwitted Bayern Munich‘s Niko Kovac. Kovac had won plenty of plaudits following a majestic thrashing of Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Champions League recently. However, the Bayern Munich manager failed to lead his side to safety in this crucial clash with Hütter taking much of the praise on a historic night. Bayern Munich will also term themselves unlucky after losing Jerome Boateng in the 9th minute. Boateng was sent off following a clumsy challenge which resulted in a sending off.

Adi Hütter shook up his side by making five changes. Dost, Fernandes, Rode, N’Dicka and Ronnow retained their spots from the side that trumped St Pauli 2-1 in the DFB Pokal.

This allowed the attackers to wreak havoc on the Bayern Munich defence. The Bavarians simply could not cope with the speed and movement they faced. Eintracht Frankfurt continued to pile pressure in the second half, scoring three more goals which rounded up a miserable night for the German giants.

Eintracht Frankfurt will next take on Standard Liege in a Europa League group stage clash. The Bavarians, on the other hand, will face off against Olympiakos in a Champions League contest.
